The Sidoarjo Regency Government is stepping up efforts to enforce public order through surprise inspections (sidak) at three locations suspected of being centers of social pathology on Saturday (11/7/2026). The operation, led directly by the Vice Regent of Sidoarjo, Hj. Mimik Idayana, along with the Satpol PP (Municipal Police), TNI (Military), and Polri (Police), aims to create a conducive environment while curbing the spread of infectious diseases.
The targeted locations included dimly lit food stalls (warung remang-remang) in the southern area of the Krembung Sugar Factory, the Krengseng red-light district in Krian, and hangout spots in Lebo Village. In the Krengseng area, officers managed to detain four female hostesses and found indications of gambling, although most locations appeared deserted before the joint team arrived.
In Lebo Village, officers discovered administrative violations in the form of karaoke booths standing on village treasury land (TKD) without clear regulations. In addition to the illegal structures, the team found the circulation of alcoholic beverages and visitors who could not produce identification cards. Following these findings, the Vice Regent urged the local village government to immediately conduct a reassessment and reorganization of village assets to make them more productive.
Mimik Idayana emphasized that the regional government will continue to evaluate operational procedures, including investigating allegations of leaked raid information to outsiders. In the future, areas previously used for unlawful activities will be cleared and projected for conversion into green open spaces that are more beneficial to the public.
"We will continue to conduct raids on an ongoing basis. Wipe out all activities that disrupt order so that Sidoarjo remains a clean, comfortable, and beautiful area for all residents," Mimik asserted during her inspection.
