The Pontianak City Government continues to strengthen the public health service sector through the launch of the Mobile CKG (Mobile Free Health Checkup) innovation. This program, initiated by the Kom Yos Sudarso Health Center (Puskesmas), aims to cut through healthcare access barriers by bringing checkup services directly to public spaces, such as supermarkets, bazaar areas, and community events. Head of the Pontianak City Health Office, Saptiko, emphasized that this step was taken to encourage early disease detection awareness among residents without being hindered by distance or time constraints.
On the other hand, the Pontianak City Government is also intensively handling a food poisoning incident that affected 56 residents in North Pontianak. Mayor of Pontianak, Edi Rusdi Kamtono, ensured that all medical treatment costs for the victims, from examinations to medication at the North Pontianak Regional Hospital (RSUD), are fully covered by the local government. Currently, health authorities are conducting laboratory tests on food samples to determine the exact cause of the incident.
In addition to healthcare service issues, the Pontianak City Government together with the police emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity of social activities, particularly blood donations. During the 54th anniversary commemoration of PMI (Indonesian Red Cross) Pontianak City, the Mayor highlighted the daily deficit in blood supplies. He invited residents to become voluntary donors to help others.
Regarding this matter, Pontianak Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Endang Tri Purwanto, issued a stern warning to the public to beware of scam tactics disguised as requests for blood donations. The police noted reports of attempts by irresponsible individuals demanding monetary rewards from patients' families. The public is urged to always verify blood needs through official PMI or hospital channels and ignore any form of transactional offers in the name of humanitarian action.
