An emergency response action was demonstrated by personnel from the Pogalan Sector Police, Trenggalek Police, in an effort to extinguish a forest and land fire (Karhutla) that hit the Mount Orak-Arik area, Ngetal Village, Pogalan District, Trenggalek Regency. The incident, which occurred on Friday (10/7/2026), was successfully brought under control thanks to close collaboration between police officers, relevant agencies, and local residents.
Pogalan Sector Police Chief, Police Commissioner Assistant (AKP) Henri Agus Sutrisno, representing Trenggalek Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police (AKBP) Ridwan Maliki, explained that reports of hotspots were received by the police at around 12:30 PM WIB. Following up on the information from local residents, officers were immediately deployed to the scene to localize the fire so it would not spread to a wider area.
The extinguishing process was carried out using various methods to ensure the fire was completely put out and left no remaining embers that could potentially ignite a follow-up fire. As of the time of this report, the situation in the Mount Orak-Arik area has been declared safe, and authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any potential fires in their respective areas.
