SOLOK CITY - The spirit of sportsmanship among students burns bright once again in Solok City with the start of the prestigious Smansa Futsal Cup V 2026. This high school-level futsal competition (SMA/SMK/MA equivalent) across West Sumatra officially kicked off at the Alimin Sinapa Sports Center (GOR) for five days, from Wednesday (29/7/2026) to Sunday (2/8/2026).
The fifth edition of the tournament, initiated by SMA Negeri 1 Kota Solok, is joined by dozens of strong teams from various regions in West Sumatra. Several favorite schools, such as SMAN 1 Suliki, SMKN 3 Solok, and MAN 3 Solok, are participating to vie for this year's championship title.
The lively opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the West Sumatra Provincial Education Office, the Secretary of the Solok City Youth and Sports Office (Dispora) Ely Suryani, the Secretary of the Solok City Communication and Information Office (Diskominfo) Riki Mahari, as well as local elements of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda). The presence of these regional officials underscores the government's full support for developing the sports talents of the younger generation.
In addition to being a competition, the organizing committee emphasized that the Smansa Futsal Cup V is designed as a platform for nurturing young athletes and strengthening ties of friendship between schools. The roaring support of fans who crowded the stands of the Alimin Sinapa Sports Center since the first day also fueled the players' fighting spirit to uphold the values of sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork.
