PT Indosat Tbk (ISAT) has demonstrated business resilience amidst the dynamics of the national telecommunications market. Throughout the first quarter of 2026, the issuer recorded a decline in the number of prepaid subscribers from 94 million to 92 million compared to the same period in the previous year. Meanwhile, the postpaid subscriber segment remained stable at 2 million users.

Capital market analysts believe that the decline in prepaid subscribers is not an indicator of weakening demand. Instead, this move is seen as a measured strategy by the company to rationalize its subscriber base to acquire higher-quality users with high economic value for the company's ecosystem.

Managing Director of Research at Samuel Sekuritas Indonesia, Harry Su, revealed that the future of Indosat's business remains promising until the end of 2026. This optimism is based on a combination of strengthening data consumption, increasing average revenue per user (ARPU), and tight operational efficiency across all business lines.

In addition to these fundamental factors, asset monetization through the FiberCo entity is believed to be an important catalyst that will drive the growth of Indosat's financial performance. The combination of internal efficiency and diversification of strategic assets is expected to maintain the company's position amidst increasingly fierce competition in the telecommunications industry.
