PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) recorded a positive performance throughout the first five months of 2026. As of May, the company's sales volume reached 15.09 million tons, representing a 4.4% year-on-year (YoY) increase compared to 14.46 million tons in the same period last year.

This achievement stems from a measured business transformation strategy under the guidance of the Ministry of SOEs and Danantara. Corporate Secretary of SIG, Vita Mahreyni, explained that the surge in performance was driven by sales growth in the domestic market, which grew by 9.6%, with the largest contribution coming from the bagged cement segment, which surged by 11.9%.

This success was supported by an effective micro-market management strategy, allowing SIG to maintain growth momentum amidst challenging construction industry dynamics. In addition to strengthening the domestic market, SIG is also increasingly aggressive in expanding its reach into international markets to boost factory utilization.

As a strategic move, SIG, through PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk, has now penetrated the United States market. In collaboration with Taiheiyo Cement Corporation, SIG successfully completed the initial shipment of 97,500 metric tons of specialized cement from its export facility in Tuban, East Java. Total export targets to the US are projected to reach 450,000 metric tons throughout 2026.

Going forward, the company is committed to continuously evaluating and refining its transformation strategy to remain adaptive. This step is taken to maintain business resilience and build a foundation for competitive, long-term growth in both national and global cement industries.
