A joint team consisting of the Pekanbaru City Satpol PP and Commission I of the Pekanbaru City DPRD carried out sudden inspections (sidak) at several nightspots in Pekanbaru City on Thursday (9/7/2026) early morning. This step was taken to ensure that all operations of the entertainment venues remain within the applicable legal framework.

During the monitoring operation, the joint team visited several locations in the Jalan Soekarno-Hatta area, including Gen Z Club and Empire 80 Lounge and KTV. Based on the officers' observations on the ground, these venues were relatively quiet. However, a different atmosphere was found when officers visited HW Live House, which was crowded with visitors at the time, allegedly due to a specific event.

The Head of Pekanbaru City Satpol PP, Desheriyanto, emphasized that the presence of his personnel alongside elements of the TNI and Polri aimed to maintain public order and peace. He issued a stern warning to the operators to strictly adhere to the operational hours set by the Regional Regulation (Perda), which is no later than 22:00 WIB.

In addition to the operational hours, the authorities also highlighted security and order aspects. Desheriyanto urged nightspot operators to increase internal supervision to prevent drug abuse and deviant activities within their business premises.

Echoing these sentiments, the Chairman of Commission I of the Pekanbaru City DPRD, Robin Eduar, who participated in the sudden inspection, stated that this monitoring is a form of the council's commitment to maintaining the city's morality and order. He was accompanied by other Commission I members, namely Aidhil Nur Putra, Wan Agusti, and Syafri Syarif, to ensure there are no loopholes for drug trafficking in nightlife areas.
