GOR Sadurengas in Tana Paser bore silent witness to the success of Japanese table tennis athlete, Kotomi Omoda, in clinching the women's singles championship title at the prestigious Paser International Table Tennis Championship (PITTC) 2026. In the final match held on Sunday (26/7/2026), Kotomi successfully overcame the fierce resistance of India's representative, Aarti Chaudhary, with a final score of 3-1.
The battle for the championship throne showcased world-class action filled with long rallies and a fast-paced game. From the first game, Aarti Chaudhary immediately applied aggressive pressure. Quick attacks from the Indian athlete initially overwhelmed Kotomi, making it difficult for her to find her best rhythm.
Despite being under pressure, Kotomi proved her mental maturity and experience on the court. Through precise ball placement and solid defense, she slowly managed to control the game. Kotomi's patience in handling long rallies finally paid off as she turned the tide and secured the victory.
This inaugural edition of the championship was witnessed directly by the Regent of Paser, dr. Fahmi Fadli, who also presented the trophy to the champion.
