The Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU), through its Agriculture Circular Economy Zone-Nahdlatul Ulama (ACEZ-NU) program, has achieved significant progress in efforts to strengthen national food security. Through the application of bionutrient-based agricultural technology, a pilot plot in Sukamanah Village, Malingping District, Lebak Regency, Banten, successfully recorded a dramatic surge in rice production.
Field data shows that the current harvest reached 1,965 kilograms, a sharp increase compared to the previous season, which stood at only 950 kilograms. With the same land area, this productivity increase reached 106.8 percent, or more than double the previous conventional yield.
The Executive Director of Lakpesdam PBNU, Asrul Raman, emphasized that this success is not merely about production numbers. The program is designed as a model that can be replicated by farmer groups and the Nahdlatul Ulama jam'iyah network throughout Indonesia to address food sovereignty challenges.
Furthermore, Asrul emphasized that the main focus of ACEZ-NU is to build an independent agricultural ecosystem. Through the integration of technology transfer, farmer knowledge enhancement, and sustainable agricultural systems, it is expected to create economic independence for local farmers capable of delivering a long-term impact on regional food security.
