PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KAI Commuter) has officially launched an innovative step in improving passenger service quality by testing Nanoe X air purification devices. This Japanese technology is installed in train cabins as part of the company's efforts to establish a cleaner and healthier environmental standard in public transportation spaces.
VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Karina Amanda, stated that the implementation of this technology represents a tangible commitment to the company's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) pillars. The installation of these devices is expected to significantly impact the comfort of Commuter Line passengers during their journeys.
Technically, Nanoe X technology works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria, viruses, and fungi, as well as neutralizing pollutant particles and unpleasant odors attached to the train's interior. With an efficient air distribution system, the device is designed to reach every corner of the cabin, providing optimal health protection for commuters.
Currently, the installation remains in a trial phase, limited to a single JR205 (SF12) commuter train set serving the Bogor route. KAI Commuter is conducting an in-depth evaluation of the device's field effectiveness. If monitoring results show satisfactory performance, plans to expand installation to other train sets will be carried out promptly.
This innovation mirrors comfort standards already implemented on commuter train systems in Japan. Through this step, KAI Commuter is optimistic about creating a travel ecosystem that is not only efficient, but also fresher and free from public concerns regarding air quality in crowded trains.
