Vietnam's Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism successfully reformed its institutional governance during the first six months of 2026. Transitioning from conventional administrative management to a Key Performance Indicator (KPI)-based approach, the ministry now prioritizes efficiency and measurable output quality across all its work programs.

The tourism sector has become a primary driver of national economic growth. Nearly 12.3 million foreign tourists visited Vietnam in the first half of this year, representing a 15% increase compared to the same period last year. This achievement contributed 569 trillion VND in revenue, reflecting the success of promotional strategies and nationwide enhancements in tourism service quality.

Gia Lai Province stands as proof of the successful synergy between central and local authorities in boosting tourism potential. Hosting more than 60 cultural and tourism events, Gia Lai attracted 8.75 million visitors, featuring an 80% surge in international tourists. This success is further reinforced by international recognition of destinations such as Quy Nhon, which was named one of the world's most popular tourist cities by a global travel platform.

Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, expressed appreciation for the dedication of all staff. In her directive, the Minister emphasized the importance of an honest evaluation of existing obstacles to accelerate the disbursement of public investment. Furthermore, the ministry remains committed to driving digital transformation and building a robust data ecosystem to support the culture and sports sectors in the future.
