In commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, Keraton Majapahit Jakarta held a friendly football match at Field A Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (27/7/2026). The match was officially opened by the General Chair of the Central National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI), Retired Lieutenant General of the Indonesian Army (TNI) Marciano Norman.
The opening of the tournament was marked by a symbolic kick-off by Marciano Norman to the Chairman of Keraton Majapahit Jakarta, Retired General of the Indonesian Army (TNI) Abdullah Mahmud Hendropriyono. The friendly match was attended by the entire big family of Keraton Majapahit Jakarta.
On this occasion, AM Hendropriyono emphasized the importance of emulating the glory of the Majapahit Kingdom, which ruled Southeast Asia for approximately 240 years. According to him, understanding history is crucial for the younger generation to foster a spirit of unity and lead Indonesia towards progress in various sectors, including through sports activities.
Responding to this, the General Chair of Central KONI, Marciano Norman, welcomed the initiative and emphasized that sports is an effective instrument to strengthen national unity. Central KONI expressed its full commitment to supporting Keraton Majapahit Jakarta in organizing sustainable and quality sports events to foster world-class national sporting achievements.
