The phenomenon of pesugihan practices associated with locations such as Mount Kawi has re-emerged in society. In response, renowned preacher Buya Yahya offered a critical perspective on the term 'white pesugihan', which is often misunderstood as a spiritual shortcut to instant wealth.
During a study session, Buya Yahya firmly stated that the concept of white pesugihan he refers to does not involve occult rituals or the help of spirits. According to him, the essence of white pesugihan is a combination of business professionalism, halal capital, and diligence in worship and charity.
"Being honest in trade, using halal capital, constantly praying to Allah, and enjoying sharing. If that is what is meant, then that is the true knowledge of white pesugihan," Buya Yahya explained.
Furthermore, he added that the desire to become rich is not a sin, as long as the primary intention is for the goodness and benefit of others. Someone who works hard with the motivation to be able to give charity like other righteous people is actually considered to have earned rewards from the moment they start striving.
Buya Yahya advised the public not to be tempted by the lure of instant wealth through practices that contradict religious teachings. He emphasized that the blessing of sustenance will only come from effort accompanied by integrity, honesty, and consistent prayer to the Creator.
