The Indonesian national sport climbing team has once again brought pride to the nation on the international stage at the World Climbing Series Krakow 2026, held in Poland from July 3 to 5, 2026. In the competition, which featured five speed discipline events, the country's athletes successfully brought home a total of four prestigious medals.
Indonesia's flagship athlete, Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi, emerged as a key figure in the medal haul. Desak successfully clinched the gold medal in the women's individual event with an impressive time of 6.54 seconds, leaving behind her closest competitor, Natalia Kalucka from Poland, who had to settle for the silver medal.
An outstanding performance was also shown by the Indonesian mixed relay team. The duo of Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi and Antasyafi Robby Al Hilmi won the silver medal after putting up a fierce fight in the final round. Despite losing to the United States duo who set a world record, Robby and Desak made a proud achievement by sharpening the Asian record during the semifinal round.
In addition to the gold and silver medals, the Indonesian team also secured a bronze medal in the women's relay event. Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi, paired with Rajiah Sallsabillah, managed to narrowly edge out the pair from Spain with a time of 13.14 seconds. This achievement is testament to the consistency and rapid development of Indonesian sport climbing athletes on the world stage.
