The Banten Provincial Government is committed to strengthening the digital ecosystem by inviting the academic community to create various applied technology innovations. This strategic step was emphasized by the Deputy Governor of Banten, Achmad Dimyati Natakusumah, when opening the Banten Technology Festival 2026 at Tangerang Raya University (Untara), Tigaraksa, Tangerang Regency, on Friday (24/7/2026).
In the festival themed Banten Tech Festival: Explore Innovation, Showcase Technology and Compete for the Future, Dimyati emphasized the regional government's readiness to facilitate and fully support technological research and development. According to him, mastering cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and digitalization is absolutely necessary to build human resources that are adaptive to global dynamics.
On the occasion, Deputy Governor Dimyati also personally inspected the exhibition booths showcasing students' technological creations, ranging from Internet of Things (IoT)-based devices, virtual reality (VR) simulations, to smart monitoring systems in the agricultural sector. These innovations are considered to have great potential for direct application to solve various practical problems in society.
Similar appreciation came from the Regent of Tangerang, Maesyal Rasyid. He assessed that the active role of students through innovative contributions is crucial in supporting regional development. The synergy between academia and the local government is expected to accelerate the modernization of public services and the local economic sector.
Responding to this support, the Rector of Untara, Mardiyana, reaffirmed the institution's commitment to continuously produce highly competent graduates ready to be absorbed by the industrial sector. This step is deemed vital to meet the demand for skilled labor in the rapidly growing Tangerang Regency area.
