The Danantara Investment Management Agency, through the Head of the SOE Regulatory Body (BP) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Danantara Indonesia, Dony Oskaria, emphasized the urgency of strengthening strategies for PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI. This step was taken to ensure that the state-owned bank remains competitive and adaptive amid increasingly dynamic global economic challenges.
In a meeting with BNI's Board of Directors on Friday (3/7), Danantara stressed the importance of a comprehensive evaluation of the company's corporate actions. This strategy is projected not only to strengthen BNI's position in the national banking industry, but also to increase overall business capacity through more robust fundamentals.
Dony Oskaria stated that BNI plays a strategic role as a driving force in financing the productive sector. Therefore, synergy within the SOE ecosystem is key for the bank to make a tangible contribution to sustainable national economic development.
The main focus of future development includes intensifying financing in crucial sectors, ranging from manufacturing, natural resource downstreaming, infrastructure development, to MSME empowerment. These efforts are expected to create a multiplier effect that drives job creation and enhances national competitiveness.
While encouraging expansion, Danantara reaffirmed that strengthening governance and strict risk management remain absolute prerequisites. With solid fundamentals and prudent management, BNI is expected to create greater added value for society while maintaining the stability of the country's financial system.
