PT Bank OCBC NISP Tbk (OCBC) has officially expanded access to international banking services for corporate customers by introducing bilateral transaction facilities in the local currencies of partner countries. This strategic step includes the use of United Arab Emirates Dirham (AED), Thai Baht (THB), and South Korean Won (KRW) without the need for conversion through intermediate currencies.
This initiative is designed as a form of tangible support for Indonesian entrepreneurs who are currently expanding into the Asian and Middle Eastern markets. With a direct transaction system, customers can now enjoy payment and fund receipt processes that are far simpler, more efficient, and competitive in terms of exchange rate costs, while also increasing the predictability of corporate cash flow management.
Head of Transaction Banking OCBC, Gianto Kusno, emphasized that this convenience has now been integrated into the OCBC Business digital platform, in addition to remaining conventionally available at branch offices. This flexibility allows businesses to monitor and execute international transactions anytime and anywhere without geographical constraints.
This service can be accessed through various account products, such as Giro Business Smart, Giro Business Signature, Giro DHE SDA, and Giro Multicurrency. The presence of these new currency options is expected to strengthen the competitiveness of domestic exporters and business players in deepening strategic partnerships with trading partners in the respective countries.
Through the strengthening of this foreign currency portfolio, OCBC is committed to continuing to be a relevant financial partner in facilitating cross-border business needs. The company believes that fast and digitized banking access is a crucial element for business players to grow and compete sustainably on a global scale.
