The Kediri Regency Government has officially organized the 2026 Agricultural Innovation and Technology Exhibition (Gertek), centered in Bulusari Village, Tarokan District. This strategic event is a tangible manifestation of Regent Hanindhito Himawan Pramana's commitment to transforming the regional agricultural sector to make it more modern, efficient, and highly competitive on the national stage.
The week-long event, starting July 6, involves 77 companies from various sectors, ranging from seed suppliers, fertilizer and pesticide producers, to the banking sector. The presence of these partners aims to provide direct education to farmers through demonstration plots (demplot) and the introduction of cutting-edge agricultural machinery (alsintan) to support sustainable food self-sufficiency.
The Regional Secretary of Kediri Regency, Mohamad Solikin, emphasized that this year's Gertek 2026 has a much more massive scale compared to previous years. A total of 14,000 farmers are directly involved, with 6,000 of them participating in farmer gathering sessions divided into 150 intensive learning classes to deepen their insights into modern agricultural management.
Echoing this sentiment, the Acting Head of the Kediri Regency Agriculture and Plantation Office, Sukadi, explained that this agenda is focused on being a technology information accelerator. He hopes that the involvement of the younger generation in this agricultural technology ecosystem can open up new horizons, showing that the agricultural sector has now transformed into a much more prospective field.
The Director of Horticultural Seedlings at the Ministry of Agriculture, Tommy Nugraha, who was also present at the event, expressed appreciation for the agricultural potential in Kediri. According to him, the use of appropriate technology is the main key to addressing various geographical and productivity challenges in the field, so that food security targets can be achieved more optimally.
