The Klungkung Regency Government has officially declared its support for the tourism innovation titled “Nyegara Gunung Experience.” This initiative, developed in Besan Village, Dawan District, is projected to become the new face of future tourism, integrating environmental restoration aspects with the strengthening of Balinese cultural identity.

The Regent of Klungkung, I Made Satria, expressed his appreciation during a direct review of the program's implementation at the TPST3R (Waste Treatment Facility) in Besan Village on Wednesday (8/7). According to him, the concept promoted by Besan Village is a concrete implementation of the regional vision to create a quality, sustainable tourism ecosystem deeply rooted in the local wisdom of the community.

Furthermore, Regent Satria emphasized that modern tourism trends should no longer merely exploit visual beauty. Innovations like the Nyegara Gunung Experience are considered crucial because they balance economic, social, and ecological dimensions, ensuring that the benefits of tourism activities can be felt in the long term by the wider community.

He hopes that the evaluation in this innovation competition will not just be a ceremonial event, but rather act as a catalyst for the birth of best practices that can be replicated by other villages in Bali. The regional government is committed to providing ongoing guidance to refine this tourism model into an ideal and educational tourist destination.

Echoing this sentiment, the Chairman of the Bali Swacita Nugraha Innovation Competition Judging Team, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Wayan Supartha, M.S., highly appreciated this breakthrough. He assessed that Besan Village's efforts to revitalize the Nyegara Gunung cosmology into modern tourism operations have successfully created harmony between humans and nature, while also preserving cultural sustainability for future generations.
