The Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of Jember Regency has expressed its full support for the "Homecare" program initiated by the Jember Regency Government (Pemkab). This home-visit-based health service is deemed a strategic step in achieving equal access to medical services for the community, especially for those who face difficulties in reaching conventional health facilities.
The Chairman of the Gerindra Faction of the Jember DPRD, Hanan Kukuh Ratmono, stated that this program is a crucial solution for residents with limited mobility to receive medical services. This program selectively targets vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, children, pregnant women, people with disabilities, and individuals with chronic illnesses.
To maximize its impact, Hanan urged that the Homecare service be operated 24 hours a day. According to him, medical emergencies can happen at any time, making the continuous readiness of health workers vital for the safety of residents.
Furthermore, the Gerindra Party legislator emphasized the importance of a strong synergy between community health centers (puskesmas) and village governments. Accurate mapping of patient data and rapid communication will make it easier for medical personnel to reach the locations of residents in need of urgent help without administrative obstacles or address searches.
Hanan hopes that the benefits of the Homecare program can be felt even in the remote villages of Jember. He highlighted the conditions of people in remote areas who, until now, have had to travel long distances and navigate difficult terrain just to obtain basic healthcare services.
