The Regent of North Central Timor (TTU), Yosep Falentinus Delasalle Kebo, emphasized the importance of fundamental changes in the pattern of public healthcare services. While briefing all Community Health Center (Puskesmas) Chiefs across TTU Regency at the Health Office Hall on Tuesday (21/7/2026), he stressed that healthcare apparatuses must tangibly prioritize the interests of citizens.
In his instructions, Regent Yosep asked medical personnel to completely change the old work paradigm. He reminded them that healthcare workers are meant to serve the community, not demand to be served. Fast, friendly, precise, and professional services are key benchmarks in presenting the government's presence among the people.
Aside from attitude changes, patient management was also a main focus. The Regent urged improvement in the discipline of health center staff, the accuracy of medical diagnoses through intensive examinations, and the optimization of Local Genuine Revenue (PAD) through professional and compliant healthcare service management.
Regarding stunting management, the TTU Regency Government set an ambitious target to reduce stunting prevalence to 32 percent by 2027. To achieve this target, Puskesmas Chiefs were instructed to directly monitor the condition of pregnant women and toddlers, and to actively educate residents to stop customary habits that hinder the consumption of nutritious food.
In closing, the Regent encouraged Puskesmas leaders to go to the field more often, collaborate with various sectors, and utilize health databases accurately. This collective step is expected to improve the community's quality of life while freeing TTU Regency from its status as an underdeveloped region.
