Sad news envelops the country's entertainment industry after the legendary Indonesian comedy actor, Zainal Abidin, better known as Diding Boneng, was reported to have passed away on Monday (3/8/2026) morning. The senior actor, widely recognized for his acting in various Warkop DKI comedy films, breathed his last at the age of 76.

This sad news was first shared by Sanggar Perkasa, the art studio where the deceased actively shared his acting knowledge, through their official social media account. The passing of this charismatic figure leaves deep sadness for the studio's extended family, colleagues, and young artists who once learned from him.

Born with the full name Zainal Abidin bin Achmad Satiri, the deceased carved out great popularity in the national film industry thanks to the unique characters he played. His distinctive appearances as a supporting actor in comedy films from the 1980s to the 1990s, especially alongside the legendary comedy group Warkop DKI, placed his name among the ranks of highly respected character actors.

Not only active in front of the big screen camera, Diding also dedicated the rest of his life to nurturing young talent. Through various art studio activities, he consistently passed on the experience and acting techniques he had cultivated during his decades in the Indonesian entertainment scene.
