Another proud achievement has been carved by young national racing talents on the international stage. Performing in front of their home crowd, two Yamaha Racing Indonesia riders successfully secured podiums in the third round of the 2026 R3 BLU CRU Asia-Pacific Championship held at the Mandalika International Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara.
This success was achieved through a fierce struggle on the track. Reynaldi Junior managed to finish in second place in the first race (Race 1), while Sabian Fathul Ilmi secured a third-place podium in the second race (Race 2). Unfortunately, M. Abid Ashar Musyafa, who showed great promise by taking pole position, was forced to end his race early due to technical issues and deteriorating physical condition.
This impressive achievement is clear proof of the effectiveness of the young rider development program run by PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM). YIMM Motorsport Manager, Wahyu Rusmayadi, stated that the positive results in Mandalika confirm that the structured development path is on the right track to hone mental strength and racing skills at the international level.
The race demonstrated the mental toughness of the national riders. Reynaldi Junior, who started the race from seventh position, performed consistently throughout the weekend. On the other hand, Sabian made an extraordinary performance improvement; despite starting the race from the 10th grid, he finished fourth in Race 1 before finally securing third on the podium in Race 2, boosting his position to fifth in the temporary standings with 58 points.
Looking ahead to the rest of the season, Sabian and Reynaldi said they are highly motivated to continue delivering their best performances in the next three rounds, which will be held in Japan and Thailand. Meanwhile, Abid chose to remain optimistic and take valuable lessons from the obstacles he faced to better prepare for the next racing series.
