Dak Lak Province is currently seeking to position itself as a strategic connectivity hub linking the inland region with sea routes, while maintaining a balance between economic development and national security. In a strategic workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Doan Minh Huan, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, emphasized that the region's geographical and demographic advantages must be managed through a transparent institutional framework, synchronized infrastructure, and the utilization of modern technology.
In-depth discussions during the seminar highlighted five main pillars, including optimizing Dak Lak's position within a multi-layered development space and transforming Buon Ma Thuot City into a primary growth hub. Experts stressed that to achieve double-digit economic growth targets, the province must transform through innovation, digitalization, and the green economy as primary drivers, while moving away from conventional development patterns deemed less competitive.
Despite its vast potential, the workshop candidly dissected several challenges that continue to hinder growth, such as logistics infrastructure limitations, human resource quality, and the competitiveness of the processing industry sector. Various inputs from ministries, business actors, and academics underscored the importance of integrating proactive policies and a dynamic business ecosystem so that local potential can truly be converted into real prosperity.
In response, the Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, expressed the local government's commitment to swiftly concretize these recommendations into an actionable program. The government is committed to building transparent, service-oriented governance, placing citizens and business actors at the center of development to create a healthier and more competitive investment environment.
