The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has officially established a strategic partnership with EQuest Education Group and Phu Xuan University to set up a new technology-focused higher education institution in Vietnam. The agreement was marked by the signing of a memorandum of cooperation on July 7, signaling a shared commitment to strengthening human resource quality in the region.
The new institute is planned to offer various undergraduate programs relevant to future industry needs, such as artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, data science, robotics, industrial systems engineering, and semiconductor technology. The introduction of these programs is expected to address global challenges in the innovation and technology sectors.
As an academic partner, AIT plays a crucial role in curriculum development, educational quality assurance, and faculty development. Additionally, this collaboration offers students the added benefit of pursuing postgraduate studies at AIT with a more efficient duration and affordable tuition fees.
AIT President, Professor Pai-Chi Li, views this collaboration as a first step in building an international-standard university model in Vietnam. This move aligns with the institution's vision to foster collaborative research and innovation while expanding access to quality education for the wider public.
Dam Quang Minh, a member of the Board of Directors of Phu Xuan University, emphasized that this collaboration represents a tangible contribution to Vietnam's educational ecosystem. With AIT's track record established since 1959 in Bangkok and its presence in Vietnam since 1993, this synergy is expected to nurture outstanding talents ready to compete internationally.
