The National Health Insurance (JKN) program continues to play a vital role in providing health protection coverage for the public, especially for Health Insurance Contribution Assistance Recipients (PBI JK) in Kebumen Regency, Central Java. The benefits of this program are directly felt by residents in accessing medical services without financial burden.
Concrete evidence was experienced by Supandi (69), a Kebumen resident who has received free medical treatment several times. Supandi, registered as a PBI JK participant, stated he did not pay a single penny while undergoing intensive care for a bone fracture at dr. Soedirman Regional Hospital, nor when receiving treatment for his chronic bronchitis.
A similar sentiment was shared by Syarif (41), Supandi's son, who accompanied his father throughout the treatment process. According to him, the medical staff at the hospital provided professional service and did not discriminate based on patient membership status. This reinforces that every JKN participant is entitled to equal standards of healthcare services.
Responding to this, the Head of the Kebumen BPJS Kesehatan Branch, Dina Diana Permata, emphasized that her party is committed to ensuring every participant gets fast, easy, and non-discriminatory service access. She stressed that as long as medical procedures are properly followed, participants will receive the same rights as other patients.
Furthermore, BPJS Kesehatan urges the public to ensure their JKN membership status remains active. Additionally, utilizing promotive and preventive services at primary healthcare facilities is highly recommended so that the public's health condition can be monitored earlier, serving as a mitigation step against future health risks.
