The Bandung City Government is currently solidifying strategic steps to establish Tarung Derajat as a proud regional sports identity. This commitment was officially affirmed through the inauguration of the branch board of the Bandung City Tarung Derajat Sports Family (Kodrat), led by Asep Robin, which also served as momentum to draft development programs for the native Bandung martial art.
Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, emphasized that Tarung Derajat holds a crucial position in the city's history. As a sport born and developed in Bandung before going global, the Bandung City Government is determined to provide full support, including plans to host the Tarung Derajat National Championship in Bandung.
One of the concrete steps being prepared is expanding the reach of training units (satlat) to all sub-districts in Bandung City. Farhan targets the establishment of more than 151 training units so that public access to this sports facility becomes widely available in every area.
In addition to physical expansion, the Bandung City Government plans to integrate basic Tarung Derajat movements into the physical education curriculum at public elementary and junior high schools. This step is taken so that the values of the martial art can be instilled in the younger generation of Bandung City from an early age.
Meanwhile, the General Chairman of the Bandung City Kodrat Branch Management, Asep Robin, welcomed the collaboration positively. He emphasized that Tarung Derajat is more than just a martial art; it embodies a life philosophy as well as exercise movements that benefit public health. His party is committed to ensuring that the declaration of Bandung as a Tarung Derajat City will become a sustainable legacy that delivers real impact to residents, rather than just a symbolic gesture.
