For Indonesia, this human-centered blueprint is highly relevant to adopt amidst the pace of national economic transformation. As one of the country's largest investment partners in the manufacturing and infrastructure sectors, Japan's move is predicted to have a major impact. Japanese companies operating in Indonesia have the potential to accelerate Society 5.0-based automation in industrial areas, which in turn will shift labor market demand from manual operational labor to digital system operators.
Collaboration opportunities are also wide open for the local startup ecosystem, especially in the agriculture, health, and logistics sectors. Through better data integration, Indonesia can build more efficient and inclusive public services. However, this transition requires readiness in data governance regulations as well as the equitable distribution of digital infrastructure across various regions to avoid technology adoption disparities.
On the other hand, accelerating into this digital era requires significant investment in human resources capacity building through digital education. Amid global market fluctuations and external economic pressures, Indonesia must move quickly to prepare adaptive regulations.
