Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) has officially completed a large-scale information technology (IT) system transformation. This strategic step serves as a crucial milestone for the company in strengthening its business foundation and enhancing digital service quality for customers across Indonesia.
President Director of BSI, Anggoro Eko Cahyo, emphasized that this system upgrade was conducted to align BSI's service quality with top-tier banking standards in the country. This transformation is seen as an urgent necessity given BSI's current status among the top five largest banks in Indonesia and its ambitious target to serve 40 million customers by 2030.
The core banking system migration process from R10 to R24 was the most massive technology project involving more than 1,500 personnel. The project was executed under strict supervision from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and Danantara to ensure all transition phases were secure, transparent, and measurable. Thanks to this upgrade, BSI's operational efficiency is claimed to have increased by up to 80 percent, with system availability reaching 99.99 percent.
The support of this new technology is now optimized through the BYOND mobile banking application for retail customers and BEWIZE for institutional client needs. As of May 2026, more than 10 million active users have utilized BSI's digital services, with total transaction values exceeding IDR 450 trillion.
This enhancement of IT capabilities directly corresponds with the company's solid financial performance. As of May 2026, BSI recorded a net profit of IDR 3.39 trillion, representing a 16.73 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth. With total assets now reaching IDR 444 trillion, BSI remains optimistic about continuing to be a key driver of an inclusive and highly competitive Islamic economy on a global scale.
