The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health is now turning public feedback and complaints into a vital instrument for mapping the quality of healthcare services. During the first half of this year, data collected through the digital public feedback system has served as an essential foundation for management to make systemic operational improvements.
According to local health authority records, several crucial issue groups were most frequently reported by the public. Legal violations in the health sector topped the list with 285 reports, followed by issues with online public services and administration with 145 complaints. Additionally, aspects such as medical staff behavior, examination professionalism, and transparency of health insurance costs were also serious concerns highlighted by citizens.
Associate Professor Dr. Tang Chi Thuong, Director of the Department of Health, emphasized that public input functions as an early detection mechanism for various shortcomings in the field. His department has established a Special Task Force assigned to routinely analyze every report, review the response of the relevant health facilities, and carry out rapid interventions to resolve issues at the grassroots level.
To enhance responsiveness, all complaint data has now been digitized into a real-time monitoring dashboard. This system allows leadership to map complaint trends based on health facilities and urgency levels, enabling more accurate intervention decisions. If indications of criminal violations are found, the Department of Health will not hesitate to coordinate with the police to ensure law enforcement proceeds according to applicable regulations.
