The Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) of Sleman Regency conducted a Sports Development Index (IPO) survey to map the actual physical fitness conditions of the community. This health data sampling activity was centered at Ganjuran Field, Manukan Hamlet, Condongcatur Village, Depok Sub-district, Sleman.
The survey involved 30 local residents representing the productive age group between 10 and 60 years old, consisting of 15 males and 15 females. Through this field data-based method, the local government aims to measure the effectiveness of sports culture at the grassroots level and its impact on public physical health.
Sleman Dispora representative, Joko Susilo, explained that the IPO is a standardized measurement instrument initiated by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenpora RI). Its main indicators include the level of public sports participation, physical fitness, availability of sports human resources, and access to adequate public open spaces.
Joko emphasized that the data collected from this field survey will serve as a primary foundation in formulating regional sports development policies. With accurate data, future sports development programs are expected to be designed with higher precision and targeted according to the community's needs.
In terms of physical testing, the test team applied the Beep Test method to measure the maximum aerobic capacity (VO2Max) and cardiovascular-pulmonary endurance of participants. All participants were challenged to perform a 20-meter shuttle run following the rhythm of audio signals that continuously increased in speed at each level.
Head of Manukan Hamlet, Beti Kartiningrum, appreciated Sleman Dispora's initiative in selecting her area as the survey location. She hopes this program will not merely be a formal data collection activity, but will also motivate nearby residents to be more active and consistent in practicing a healthy daily lifestyle.
To conclude the competitive series of events, the organizers gave special recognition to two participants with the highest Beep Test scores. The Sleman Regency Government hopes that this orderly fitness data administration can encourage the creation of sustainable communal sports regulations.
