As of the data update on July 5, 2026, the contingent from the capital of the Riau Islands has amassed a total of 12 gold, seven silver, and seven bronze medals, with athletics serving as the primary driver of this medal haul.

The return of the athletes and officials at Sri Bintan Pura Port on Monday (7/6/2026) was warmly welcomed by the Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) of Tanjungpinang City. The Secretary of Dispora Tanjungpinang, Faisal Pahlevi, expressed his deep appreciation for the achievements of the athletes who brought honor to the region through fierce competition in the arena.

Faisal emphasized that every single athlete sent from the athletics division managed to bring home a medal, an impressive feat that fuels the city government's optimism in chasing the overall championship target. This success is seen as proof of the effectiveness of the youth athlete development program, which is carried out sustainably through collaboration between Dispora, sports federations, and the coaching staff.

On the other side, Tanjungpinang Athletics Coach, Diki Ardi, revealed that this dominance is the result of intensive preparation over the last three months.
