The Speaker of the South Sulawesi Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), Syaharuddin Alrif, officially opened an international health seminar held in Sidrap Regency. The main agenda of this scientific meeting focused on strengthening early detection strategies and more comprehensive cancer management for the wider community.

In his remarks, Syaharuddin emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration in providing education related to cancer prevention. According to him, public understanding of the early symptoms of the disease is key to reducing fatality rates, considering that cancer is often only detected when it has reached an advanced stage.

The seminar featured health experts who shared the latest insights on diagnostic methods and state-of-the-art medical treatment standards. The presence of this international forum at the regional level is expected to drive local medical personnel to improve their competence in providing higher-quality healthcare services.

This event also served as a strategic discussion space for healthcare practitioners to formulate promotive and preventive measures. Through this initiative, it is hoped that collective public awareness regarding the importance of a healthy lifestyle and routine health screenings can increase in order to reduce the risk of chronic diseases in the South Sulawesi region.
