The General Chair of the Central National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI), Retired Lt. Gen. Marciano Norman, conducted a working visit to Samarinda on July 12, 2026. During the visit, Marciano directly inspected the Sports Center facilities owned by the General Chair of East Kalimantan KONI for the 2026–2030 period, H. Anderiy Syachrum, which includes padel, tennis, mini soccer, and badminton courts.

The main focus of the inspection was on Aubry Padel, a sports facility deemed to hold great potential as a crucible for national athletes. Marciano emphasized that the presence of capable sports infrastructure is a vital foundation for supporting the emergence of elite athletes who can compete on the international stage.

Furthermore, Marciano provided strategic direction to Anderiy Syachrum to establish close collaboration with other sports facility owners. This synergy is expected to expand the reach of talent scouting so that the development process from grassroots to professional levels can run systematically and measurably.

At the end of his visit, Marciano stressed that advanced facilities must be accompanied by solid organizational work programs. He challenged the board of East Kalimantan KONI to immediately draft a concrete development roadmap, ensuring that existing facilities serve not just as recreational spots, but as spaces for developing future world-class athletes.
