Padel sports in Indonesia are increasingly showing their existence along with the rising public enthusiasm. This is reflected in the holding of the Rosiade Padel Tournament Series-2 which took place at Crown Padel, Alam Sutera, Tangerang, on Saturday (4/7/2026).
Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Andre Rosiade, revealed that this edition of the tournament underwent significant development. While the first edition of the competition was only limited to the beginner class, now the tournament has expanded to include lower bronze, bronze, up to the U-12 age group categories.
More than just an event to show off, this tournament serves as a strategic instrument to scout talented young athletes. Andre affirmed his commitment to collaborate with the Indonesian Padel Association (PBPI) in preparing young athletes for the upcoming Asia-Pacific level competitions.
"This coming August, we will again hold a special junior tournament as a national selection stage. We plan to have comprehensive categories ranging from U-8 to U-18 to ensure optimal athlete regeneration," Andre explained.
The high public interest in this sport was evident from the number of registrants which reached 1,100 people. However, time constraints and court capacity forced the committee to limit the number of participants to 260 people. This event was made even more attractive by a free registration policy, as well as the provision of healthcare facilities and various appreciation prizes for the winners.
