The Kediri Regency Government is committed to accelerating the transformation of the agricultural sector through the Agricultural Innovation and Technology Exhibition (Gertek) 2026. The seven-day event, held in Bulusari Village, Tarokan District, serves as a major stage for thousands of farmers to adopt modern technology while opening wide access to production facilities and farming capital.
Carrying the spirit of "Modern Agriculture for Sustainable Food Self-Sufficiency", this event features at least 77 agricultural industry players. The exhibitors include providers of superior seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, as well as manufacturers of agricultural machinery and equipment (alsintan). In addition, the banking sector is also participating to provide financial literacy education for farmers.
The Regional Secretary of Kediri Regency, Mohamad Solikin, emphasized that the presence of these various business players is crucial. "This step makes it easier for farmers to access appropriate technology information and select high-quality production inputs that suit the needs of their land," he said.
In this event, which is far more massive than in previous years, a target of 14,000 farmers is expected to attend. As many as 6,000 of them are participating in the Farmers' Gathering (Temu Tani) program, where they are divided into 150 intensive learning classes to absorb materials specifically tailored to their respective fields of work.
The Acting Head of the Agriculture and Plantation Office of Kediri Regency, Sukadi, added that the event also serves as a magnet for the younger generation. It is hoped that the innovations and technologies on display will change millennials' perception, showing that agriculture is a modern, prospective sector that adapts to the times.
Echoing these sentiments, the Director of Horticultural Seeds of the Ministry of Agriculture, Tommy Nugraha, appreciated the strategic step taken by the Kediri Regency Government. He assessed that challenges in the field can be resolved through the integration of appropriate technology, which will ultimately strengthen food productivity from the regional to the national level.
