The Tangerang Regency Government has officially established a strategic partnership with Prasetiya Mulya University through the Tangerang Gemilang Scholarship program. This initiative aims to cultivate the region's youth to possess qualified competencies in future technology sectors, such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and product design innovation.
The signing of the cooperation agreement, which took place at the Harry-Jusuf Auditorium, Prasetiya Mulya University, serves as the formal foundation for providing higher education access to local youth. The selection of this campus was based on the track record of its graduates, who are deemed highly adaptive to national and global job market needs and possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
The Regent of Tangerang, Mochammad Maesyal Rasyid, emphasized that this program is a long-term investment to create concrete solutions for regional development. According to him, the government does not only want to produce job seekers, but innovators capable of addressing industry challenges through the mastery of applied technology.
As an initial step, 15 high-achieving students have been selected to pursue their education at the School of STEM, Prasetiya Mulya University. They will undergo a project-based curriculum that prioritizes direct collaboration with the industry, ensuring the competencies gained are highly relevant to current business dynamics.
The Dean of the School of STEM at Prasetiya Mulya University, Permata Nur, added that the main focus of this program is the utilization of technology to solve real-world problems in society. Students will be trained to build innovative solutions early on so they are ready to contribute directly after completing their studies.
The scholarship recipients welcomed this golden opportunity as a first step towards achieving their goals.
