Omoda & Jaecoo officially marked a new era of smart mobility by holding the global debut of their latest electric SUV, the Omoda O4, in Indonesia. This world premiere took place during the "Super AI Night" event at the Spike Air Dome, PIK 2, Tangerang. This strategic step reinforces the manufacturer's commitment to massively integrating artificial intelligence (AI) technology into eco-friendly vehicles in the country.
The main advantage of the Omoda O4 lies in its "Super AI Cockpit" technology. This AI-based smart cockpit is designed with Agentic AI architecture and supported by a Large Language Model (LLM). With this system, the vehicle is not only capable of responding to voice commands precisely, but can also understand the context of the conversation and provide natural, interactive responses to the driver.
The presence of the Omoda O4 also marks the beginning of the Dual Super Strategy, a concept that combines the Super Hybrid System (SHS) and the Super Intelligent AI system. CEO of Omoda & Jaecoo International, Shawn Xu, revealed that the selection of Indonesia as the location for the global launch was based on the dynamism of the national automotive market, which is highly open to the latest technological innovations.
Visually, the electric SUV adopts a futuristic design language with a Cyber Mecha Design theme. Its appearance is enhanced by sharp body lines, Cyber Lightning headlights, and a sporty aerodynamic silhouette. Inside the cabin, the AI technology is supported by 10 AI Agents capable of learning driving habits and recognizing the emotional state of users through the AI Brain 2.0 system update.
For the powertrain, the Omoda O4 is equipped with a 65.05 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery capable of covering a distance of up to 553 kilometers on a single charge based on NEDC standard testing. Its performance is supported by a 160 kW electric motor with a peak torque of 275 Nm, allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.1 seconds.
Charging convenience is also a key feature of this electric car, thanks to support for DC fast charging of up to 119 kW, which can charge the battery from 20 percent to 80 percent in just 22 minutes. Following its debut in Indonesia, this smart cockpit technology is scheduled to enter the Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern markets by the end of 2026 before expanding globally the following year.
