The Indonesian Tax Consultants Association (IKPI) continues its efforts to raise the professional standards of its members amid regulatory dynamics and rapid economic digitalization. General Chairman of IKPI, Vaudy Starworld, emphasized the importance of tax consultants moving beyond their traditional role as mere technical executors of tax obligations.

During the IKPI Tangerang City Branch Tax Seminar held in Gading Serpong, Vaudy stressed that modern tax consultants must be capable of transforming into strategic business advisors. This includes the ability to provide comprehensive solutions, ranging from corporate governance and corporate legal aspects to business risk mitigation faced by taxpayers.

Vaudy highlighted that the complexity of today's business challenges demands cross-profession synergy and broader competencies. "Tax consultants are strategic partners of the state as well as an important pillar in maintaining sustainable and fair state revenue. Therefore, enhancing credibility and bargaining power through mastering relevant knowledge is an absolute necessity," he said.

To realize this vision, IKPI has initiated various strategic steps for its members. These concrete steps include formal education partnerships with universities up to the doctoral level, implementation of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) schemes, and certification collaborations with various other professional associations.

The seminar, attended by around 120 members, also discussed the urgency of the latest regulations, including Government Regulation (PP) No. 20 of 2026 and Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) No. 28 of 2026. The discussion focused on understanding risks and compliance strategies for industry players, particularly the e-commerce sector, which continues to grow rapidly in the digital era.
