The Jakarta Kota Tua Tourism Area recorded a significant visitor trend during the 2026 school holiday period. According to data from the Kota Tua Area Management Unit (UPK), a total of 99,663 tourists crowded the historic area between June 27 and July 5, 2026, dominated by domestic tourists reaching 97,700 people.

Head of UPK Kota Tua, Denny Aputra, projects that visitor numbers will continue to surge, surpassing 200,000 by this weekend. The peak crowd was recorded on Saturday, July 4, with a total of 14,773 visitors filling the museum area and various other supporting facilities.

This increase in visitor volume is supported by UPK Kota Tua's strategy of offering a variety of attractions, ranging from educational tours, haunted houses, to 3D museum rides. This step is considered effective in boosting visitor numbers by 30 to 40 percent on weekdays and 20 to 30 percent on weekends compared to normal days.

To attract the younger generation, the area management also plans to expand collaborations with creative communities through various thematic events. In addition, visitors can still enjoy classic activities such as riding around on vintage onthel bicycles, participating in pottery classes, and enjoying aesthetic lighting art installations.

To support tourist comfort, the management provides free access to several museums for KJP and KIP holders, as well as a free admission policy at the Bank Indonesia Museum for students, the elderly, and people with disabilities. Supporting facilities such as tour buses, free walking guides, and a tourist information center are also provided to ensure an inclusive and affordable travel experience.
