A group of Field Learning Practice (PBL) I students from the Faculty of Public Health (FKM) at Hasanuddin University officially launched a community service program series in Rijang Panua Village, Kulo District, Sidenreng Rappang Regency. The activity, held on Monday (6/7), began with a seminar to socialize the program among village officials and representatives of the local district government.
The Head of Rijang Panua Village, Rudi Tompang, positively welcomed the presence of the students in his area. He expressed hope that these young academics would bring fresh perspectives and assist the village government in identifying various health obstacles faced by the community.
Village coordinator Muhammad Nandi Supyanda explained that the seminar was a crucial phase in the community-based learning process. In his presentation, he highlighted that all collected data will be systematically processed to determine the most urgent health priorities in the village.
"The data we collect and scientifically process will serve as the main reference in prioritizing health issues in this region," Nandi stated on the sidelines of the event.
Head of the Kulo Community Health Center (UPT Puskesmas Kulo), Samsul Alam, also provided guidance to the students, advising them not to treat this activity as merely fulfilling academic requirements. He encouraged them to establish intensive communication with the community so that the designed programs would be genuinely relevant to field needs. This synergy between students, village officials, and community leaders is expected to yield concrete solutions for improving health status in Rijang Panua Village.
