Muong Bo Commune is preparing to welcome a prestigious sports event titled "Muong Bo X-Rice: Soaring Above Golden Fields - LCC10," scheduled to take place from July 25 to 26. The competition has drawn nearly 200 athletes from various regions ready to take on a challenging course set against stunning natural scenery.
Participants will navigate a 25-kilometer off-road route winding through traditional villages, mountain slopes, and vast expanses of terraced rice fields entering the harvest season. The route requires high technical skill, from tackling steep inclines to maintaining balance on sharp turns along the hillsides.
In addition to offering a physical challenge for riders, the event is designed to highlight the region's potential for experiential and community-based tourism. Organizers hope the event will promote the unique culture of local ethnic minorities to a broader audience of both domestic and international tourists.
In conjunction with the race, the committee has also launched a photography contest titled "Muong Bo - Golden Colors in the High Mountains." The competition is open to photographers and tourists alike to capture the natural beauty and rich traditions of ethnic groups such as the Dao, Tay, H'Mong, and Xa Pho living in the area.
Organizers are optimistic that combining extreme sports competition with the beauty of the mountain landscape will not only produce champions on the track, but also serve as an important instrument in promoting sustainable tourism and preserving local cultural values in Muong Bo.
