The Financial Services Authority (OJK) emphasized that the cargo insurance sector, commonly known as marine cargo, continues to show solid performance. This stability is maintained even as the industry adapts to the single-window export policy through PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia.

Based on data up to April 2026, the cargo insurance and reinsurance line of business recorded a significant premium income of IDR 2.85 trillion. On the other hand, recorded claims stood at IDR 0.58 trillion, indicating that industry dynamics remain controlled and well-maintained amidst ongoing trade activities.

Ogi Prastomiyono, Chief Executive of Insurance, Guarantee, and Pension Fund Supervision at OJK, stated that his agency continues to closely monitor the transition process of the export policy. Supervision is focused on mapping out potential impacts on both the marine cargo business line and trade credit insurance.

Ogi added that the need for protection against logistics, trade, and export-import risks remains a priority for business actors. Therefore, the business outlook in this sector is still seen as having bright growth potential, as long as companies are able to adapt with relevant business strategies.

In facing these policy changes, OJK encourages insurance companies to continue strengthening their corporate fundamentals. Recommended strategic steps include strengthening prudent risk management, raising underwriting standards, and diversifying portfolios to capture new market opportunities and maintain future performance sustainability.
