The Pacu Jalur Rayon IV cultural and traditional sports event in Gunung Toar District is set to be a festive occasion. The annual event, centered at the Tepian Datuk Bandaro Arena, Pasar Gunung, is scheduled to run for three consecutive days, from July 24 to 26, 2026.
As of Wednesday (22/7/2026), the committee recorded that 67 boats have officially registered to participate. The Head of Gunung Toar District, Hendri Joprison, confirmed the high enthusiasm of the participants who are ready to compete in the folk festival.
With only one day remaining before the registration deadline, the committee urges all boat representatives who have not yet registered to sign up their flagship teams immediately. This prompt action is necessary to ensure the administrative process is completed on time before the competition begins.
This year's competition offers an enticing total prize pool of Rp87.5 million, complete with trophies and championship banners for the main winners. The district government hopes this event will not only heighten the spirit of sporting competition but also serve as a regional tourist attraction that drives the local economy.
