The Jambi Municipal Government has officially partnered with TVRI to bring the excitement of the global football tournament to the public through public viewing (nobar) events for the 2026 World Cup. The event, which is open to the public, is scheduled to take place in the Siginjai Keris Monument area from July 11 to 12, 2026.
This initiative not only aims to provide entertainment for residents but is also a strategic effort by the local government to stimulate the local economy. By involving Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), attendees can enjoy culinary delights while supporting local products at the venue.
Jambi Municipal Government Spokesperson, Saleh Ridha, stated that the event is designed to create a shared space for all elements of society. In addition to the match broadcasts, the organizers have prepared a series of supporting entertainment activities, including musical performances, interactive games, and attractive door prize giveaways for spectators.
The public viewing schedule for the quarter-finals begins on Saturday, July 11, 2026, featuring the match between Spain and Belgium at 01:00 WIB. The matches will continue in the early hours of Sunday, with Norway facing England at 03:00 WIB, and Argentina taking on Switzerland at 07:00 WIB.
Given the high level of enthusiasm, the Jambi Municipal Government plans to continue this public viewing tradition through the semi-finals on July 15–16, 2026, up to the final match. The entire event will be attended by members of the Jambi City Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) and is expected to strengthen community ties through the spirit of sportsmanship in football.
