Intensive search efforts for two teenagers from Krinjing Hamlet, Krinjing Village, Watumalang District, Wonosobo Regency, have finally reached a conclusion. Arifin Nurohmat (18) and Yufaidin (15) were found lifeless at the bottom of a ravine in the Curug Tiga area, Mount Bismo, on Sunday (12/7/2026).
This discovery marks the end of a massive search operation involving approximately 200 joint personnel from Basarnas, BPBD, TNI-Polri elements, as well as various volunteer communities. The two had been reported missing since Tuesday (30/6/2026) after residents spotted them walking towards the mountain slopes without their families' knowledge.
The Head of Watumalang District, Arief Hardiyanto, explained that the families had initially conducted an independent search shortly after the two teenagers failed to return home by nightfall. However, as it yielded no results, an official report was subsequently filed with the authorities, leading to the involvement of a multi-agency SAR team.
The Coordinator of the Wonosobo SAR Post, Dani Fitra Maulana, stated that the official report was received on July 2, 2026. Since then, the joint team had been massively combing the hiking trails and forested areas on the slopes of Mount Bismo. The discovery of the two victims' bodies at the bottom of the ravine now puts an end to the mystery of their disappearance, which had drawn widespread attention from the public in the Wonosobo region.
