To enliven the commemoration of the 80th Bhayangkara Day, the Kutai Kartanegara Police (Polres Kukar) held a healthy walk and joint exercise event centered at the Kukar Police Headquarters Field in Tenggarong on Sunday (7/5/2026). Carrying the theme "Polri for the Community," this event serves as a symbol of the police institution's commitment to maintaining closeness and a real presence for residents in its jurisdiction.
The event, attended by around 500 participants from various elements of society, was officially opened by the Kutai Kartanegara Police Chief, AKBP Khairul Basyar. Also present on the occasion were members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), including Deputy Chairman 1 of the Kukar Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) Abdul Rasyid, Head of Satpol PP Arfan Boma, as well as representatives from Kodim 0906 Kukar and Yon Armed 18. The presence of these regional officials demonstrates a solid inter-agency synergy in Kutai Kartanegara.
In his remarks, AKBP Khairul Basyar emphasized that this event was more than just physical activity. To him, the moment represented the role of the National Police as a strategic partner and protector of the public in every dynamic of daily life. He expressed hope that the spirit of togetherness fostered during the event would strengthen public trust in the police force.
The excitement of the event reached its peak during the distribution of various attractive door prizes to participants. The committee prepared dozens of door prizes, ranging from household appliances and electronic devices to bicycles. Public enthusiasm peaked when the committee announced the grand prizes: an Umrah pilgrimage ticket and two motorcycles, adding even more cheer to the atmosphere.
The Kutai Kartanegara Police Chief expressed his highest appreciation to all levels of society, relevant agencies, and supporting parties for ensuring the event ran smoothly. Until the conclusion of the event, the atmosphere remained conducive, reflecting the sustained harmony between the police and the community in Kutai Kartanegara.
