BPJS Kesehatan has officially strengthened strategic cooperation with four ministries and government institutions to optimize the governance of the National Health Insurance (JKN) Program. This cross-sectoral collaboration focuses on strengthening protection for participants, integrating membership data, financial sustainability, as well as increasing employer compliance across the country.
The four institutional partners involved in this synergy include the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI), the Directorate General of Regional Finance of the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). Each institution plays a crucial role in accordance with their respective authorities to create a more solid integration of JKN implementation.
President Director of BPJS Kesehatan, Prihati Pujowaskito, stated that the challenges in managing this social security program are becoming increasingly complex. His team is not only focusing on the financial sustainability of the Social Security Fund, but is also working to maintain active public participation and improve the quality of service in the field.
According to Prihati, the JKN program has now developed into a broad ecosystem. Therefore, the success of its implementation can no longer be charged to a single institution, but requires close cooperation between agencies to present an integrated governance that is responsive to public needs.
In this cooperation, synergy with the Ministry of Social Affairs focuses on integrating the system for contribution assistance recipients (PBI) and the interoperability of poverty data. Meanwhile, the partnership with KP2MI aims to expand health protection coverage for Indonesian migrant workers, from prior to departure to returning to the country through the utilization of information technology.
On the other hand, the collaboration with the Directorate General of Regional Finance of the Ministry of Home Affairs targets regional budgeting aspects related to health contributions, to ensure that financial support at the local level remains stable. Meanwhile, the partnership with BPS is focused on matching JKN participant data with the National Social and Economic Single Data (DTSEN) to improve the accuracy of membership statistical data.
This collaborative step is expected to revive the spirit of mutual cooperation (gotong royong) in supporting the resilience of the JKN program. Through data integration and appropriate policies, BPJS Kesehatan is committed to providing fair, equal, and efficient access to health services for all Indonesian people.
