KUPANG — The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Provincial Government has officially channeled a capital injection of Rp30 billion to Bank NTT. This strategic move is expected to accelerate business expansion and improve the quality of banking services for communities in various remote areas.

President Director of Bank NTT, Charlie Paulus, revealed that the additional capital would be allocated to fund several priority programs. Some of these include the construction of two new branch offices in Oelamasi (Kupang Regency) and Borong (East Manggarai Regency), as well as the revitalization of office units considered less than representative.

"We are striving to expand banking access and strengthen competitiveness. This new office network and facility upgrades are crucial steps to serve customers better," said Charlie after attending a Hearing Meeting with Commission III of the NTT Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) on Wednesday (July 22, 2026). He also added that similar commitments will be followed by several regency governments to strengthen the bank's capital structure.

To optimize this funding injection, management is encouraging branch managers to adopt an entrepreneurial culture. Charlie emphasized the importance of regional leaders' creativity in identifying local business opportunities without having to constantly rely on instructions from the head office.

Meanwhile, Head of the Bureau of Economy and Development Administration of the NTT Provincial Secretariat, Selvi Nange, explained that this investment decision was based on the financially sound performance of Bank NTT. The regional financial institution is deemed consistent in contributing dividends and active in supporting regional strategic programs, including the One Village One Product (OVOP) program.

Commission III of the NTT DPRD also voiced full support for the capital increase. Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the NTT DPRD, Kristoforus Loko, hopes this injection of funds will expand Bank NTT's room for maneuver to achieve business targets in a timely manner while boosting Regional Original Revenue (PAD).

Furthermore, Kristoforus is optimistic that the collaboration of the Banking Group (KUB) with Bank Jatim will bring a positive impact, particularly in technology transfer, acceleration of digitalization, and improvement of service quality. This synergy is expected to spur the board of directors' performance in advancing the economy in the NTT region.
