Surabaya has now become the latest destination in the BYD Tech Culture Fest (TCF) 2026 national tour series. Taking place at Pakuwon Mall, this event is designed as an interactive platform for the residents of East Java to learn more deeply about new energy vehicle technology, both pure electric (EV) and Dual Mode (DM) technology.
Selecting Surabaya as the host city is considered strategic due to its role as a major economic hub and mobility gateway in East Java. Luther Panjaitan, Head of Marketing, PR & Government Relations at PT BYD Motor Indonesia, emphasized that this festival represents the company's effort to educate the public through direct experience, rather than mere technical theory.
Alongside this festival, BYD also expanded its business footprint by simultaneously inaugurating three dealership networks, namely BYD HAKA in Gresik, Madiun, and Banyuwangi. This step complements the six dealerships already operating in East Java, with plans to add more than 10 outlets in the future to ensure the availability of after-sales services for consumers.
Inside the festival area, visitors were treated to an immersive experience through the Technology Zone, which highlights innovations such as the Blade Battery and e-Platform. Additionally, BYD provided a comprehensive test drive area for various flagship models, ranging from the BYD M6 series to premium SUVs DENZA D9 and B5, including an extreme terrain challenge for the DENZA B5.
As proof of energy efficiency, BYD also presented the results of the 150-kilometer Surabaya–Prigen route Media Challenge. The test results showed significant energy use efficiency, with operational costs as low as IDR 181 per kilometer, proving that eco-friendly technology is becoming increasingly relevant and economical for the daily mobility needs of the community.
